Did not attend due to illness. I did let tutor and group know several days in advance . I am sure it would have been good.

Relaxed and friendly. However the Gallery was very busy which meant that it was not always possible to stay together and discuss the painting as a group.

I really enjoyed it. I was initially thinking of cancelling as I didn't fancy 2 hours up Carlton Hill outside. I'm glad the venue changed to the national gallery cafe and hope meetings can continue there. Definitely an indoor space would be best. Robyn was so lovely and had a few suggestions for everyone's work as it took shape. The small group worked well around a table. If the group size grows then not so easy for Robyn to see everyone unless it's a big table.

ARTISTS
Eva Brenda Rodriguez Paredes
Eva Paredes is a painter interested in the study of colour and dreams. And how both relate to our understanding of existence. She studied Fine Art in Mexico in 2016 and specialised in painting. She has worked in mural painting projects and led art workshops in museums in Mexico and Scotland. Eva has also worked as a language tutor and nursery practitioner, programs that have allowed her to develop an interdisciplinary practice within pedagogy and art.

Her individual work is heavily influenced by the bold and raw nature of expressionism and emotive brushstrokes. She draws inspiration from my experiences living in Scotland, Germany and Mexico.

My art "Authenticity"This piece represents my journey of transformation ? a journey of becoming the truest and most authentic version of myself. It is about releasing limiting beliefs, breaking free from old patterns, and leaving behind the masks I once wore to fit expectations and seek acceptance. The act of removing the mask symbolizes letting go of the false identities that no longer serve me and embracing who I truly am.At its heart, this artwork carries a powerful message: be aut

Title or Location: My Favourite Toy
This is Marley, one of my loopy border collies. I managed to take the reference photo for this drawing in one of his quiet moments, while he was hugging his favourite toy and stopping his brother Bob from stealing it! It was a challenge drawing him on pastelmat as I'm not too experienced with it but quiete happy with how he came out! He's drawn in a mix of faber castel polychromos, caran d'ache luminance and some derwent drawing pencils.

I loved this photograph from John Strachan photography and finally got around to painting it in acrylic. I tried to be quite loose with the painting as there was so much detail. in the end I thought the sky looked a bit bare so with the help of Chat GPT I added seagulls to the photo and was then able to paint them into my art work. This painting will be heading for the Aberdeen art show the end of August for sale.
